Where to Start?

After a much needed hiatus (after the stress and success that was Requiem for the Damned) we are back!

And where do we start? It’s a question most creatives (or most young adults) find themselves facing:

‘Where do I start?’

‘What do I do?’

‘What will make me happy?’

‘What will make me money?’

These questions have been thrown around in my mind and out loud time and time again. As someone who’s not at all qualified to give advice, here’s my 2 cents: 

Start anywhere, with anything.

It sounds much more arb than it is. 

And, unironically, I’m not the first person to say it. Any step forward is better than none. I, too, am a victim of becoming crippled by the fear of making a mistake and so I make no decision at all and only as I’ve gotten older, have I become braver. I’m still scared - the entertainment industry is not for the feint hearted, but it’s a feeling I get in my bones: “This is meant for me” and so I try things anyway. 

Starting with something new, we’ve begun work on a new original musical with the aim of bringing original theatre to South African stages.
